MAY 2013
This week at the farm has been a warm one, today's temperature is flirting with 100 degree's. Crops are growing great this season. Finally got the Alfalfa mowed, raked and baled. Bale count was 961 bales. Not a bad crop, average tonnage is 1 1/2 tons per acre. Quality was good, we are HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY FARMERS.
Lots of veggies right now, Onions, Green Beans, Tomato's and Squash. Cucumbers and Eggplant are soon to begin harvest along with some Peaches and Nectarines.
At this time of the year we are already looking at Fall time crops.
Do your part and support local family farms, visit your nearest farmers market, get out and find out who grows and produces your food. Join a CSA it sure helps small family farms and helps erase the carbon foot print that is used to get the food to your table.
